All visitors are welcome to enter the British Golf Museum this weekend, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August, for FREE, for the anniversary of the first Walker Cup match in 1922.

The biennial match for the Walker Cup between Great Britain and Ireland and the USA was first played on the National Golf Links of America, Southampton, New York on 28th and 29th August 1922 and the American team triumphed.

The history of the Walker Cup comes to life in our new International Team Events exhibition.  You can discover the claim to a place in history of George Herbert Walker, the president of the USGA in 1920 and the donor of the trophy.  Find out how he is related to two Presidents of the United States.

Amongst our other fascinating collections, you can learn about Bobby Jones, who played in the Walker Cup in 1930, his Grand Slam year, when he won The Open, the US Open, The Amateur and the US Amateur Open Championships.

Come along to the museum for free this weekend and take the perfect break from playing golf.
