Come along to the British Golf Museum this weekend, Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July, for free and experience our new Open Championships since 1946 Gallery

This year The Open Championship is being held at Royal Liverpool GC, Hoylake from 20th- 23rd July.  The Championship was first held at Hoylake in 1897, when Harold Hilton won with a score of 314.

If you can’t make it to The Open, then come to the next best thing and visit our Open Championships since 1946 Gallery.  Tour the venues for The Open around the United Kingdom and see the exhibition come alive with items from this year’s destination.  Find out why Peter Thomson’s 1956 win makes him unique in the championships.  See one of the clubs used by Argentinian player Roberto de Vicenzo when he won The Open the last time it was played in Hoylake in 1967.

Our spectacular film footage of The Open from 1923 up until last year’s memorable Open includes highlights of the 1924, ’30, ’36, ’47, ’56 and ’67 Open in Hoylake.

This will make the perfect break from playing golf.
