Award winning Museum ends 2015 on a high note
The British Golf Museum is celebrating after scooping a top architectural award at the Dundee Institute of Architecture and Design Awards 2015. The stylish building was named 'Best Commercial/Non Domestic Building 2015'! Bill Black, Director at Richard Murphy, said, 'The design of the Museum is conceived as a simple pavillion in the landscape. The orientation of the Cafe has been key to the design, maximising the views across the Old Course for the Cafe visitors, whilst leaving uninterupted views to the beach beyond for the adjacent existing buildings at the edge of the town.'
The Museum has also been awarded 5 star status by Visit Scotland under its Quality Assurance Scheme. Museum staff were particularly singled out for their excellent customer service. The Museum has held 5 star status for 14 consecutive years and we are really proud of our staff for their hard work in acheiving this.
The Cafe at the Museum is celebrating the news and ushering in the festive season with a performance by acapella group the Hummingbird in the Cafe on Saturday 12th December from 1.30-2p.m. Visitors can get in the festive mood with carols and other songs performed in this unique setting. Enjoy our delicious Christmas Cream Tea too while you listen to the entertainment.
We would like to thank our visitors for their support since re-opening and wish them a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
