The British Golf Museum has gained a VisitScotland 5 star visitor
attraction rating.
The star grading scheme was developed by the Scottish Tourist
Board, now VisitScotland, to ensure that the public can easily
identify high quality visitor attractions throughout Scotland.
The five star band denotes an attraction which is “exceptional”.
The awards are aimed at a wide range of visitor attractions from
museums and galleries to nature reserves and gardens.
Praised in particular was the Museum’s new gallery, the
18th Hole. This hands-on gallery which has as the main focus a
mini putting green allowing use of replica clubs and balls was
considered to be “excellent”. The appeal of this gallery
to a younger audience was also highlighted.
Hilary Webster, the Visitor Services Manager commented “we
are delighted to have been presented with this award and will
continue to strive to retain these high standards.”
