Celebrate National Sporting Heritage Day

Monday 30th September

Celebrating National Sporting Heritage Day at the British Golf Museum

This year the British Golf Museum is celebrating National Sporting Heritage Day by hosting a selection of events online and in the Museum to celebrate our collections as well as our visitors’ memories of golf.

We are encouraging our visitors to explore our displays and tell us why they love golf in our Golf Memories scrapbooks which will be located in the Museum reception as well as in the galleries.

To celebrate National Sporting Heritage Day, we are offering free entry to the Museum all day on Monday 30th September, with last entry to the galleries at 4.15pm. A curator will also be offering object handling activities in our Café from 2pm – 4pm.

Held on the 30th September every year, National Sporting Heritage Day provides a focus point for sporting heritage in the UK. It aims to raise awareness of the relevance of sporting heritage by encouraging new and different audiences to have access to these collections. It encourages heritage, community and sporting organisations to recognise and celebrate sporting heritage as an ongoing, significant element of their work, not just something of importance during major sporting events.
