Pages of the Sea
11th November 2018 12-2.30pm
On Sunday 11th November from 12-2.30pm, members of the public are encouraged to gather on the West Sands Beach to mark 100 years since Armistice and the end of the first world war.
The project, created by Danny Boyle, will see communities gather on beaches around the UK to say thank you and goodbye to the millions of men and women who left their shores, many never to return.
Volunteers will be on hand to help the public draw stencils in the sand of those who have been lost to war and to read the poem commissioned for the event by poet Carol-Ann Duffy, The Wound in Time.
Free parking is available adjacent to the museum.
